In celebration of spring, ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center will welcome accomplished artist and designer Eileen Tokita for a workshop Saturday.
Tokita has been creating Faberge-style eggs and teaching classes for more than 40 years. With her own unique signature design, she has garnered world acclaim from some of the most respected artists and was featured at the White House.
She is a master at her craft and has created intricate and stunning creations from a variety of real eggs.
Tokita is a native of Seattle, and currently resides in Honolulu.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to offer a special panoramic egg class with her this month,” said ‘Imiloa spokesman Vinnie Recinto. “Students will learn basic egg art techniques and create a whimsical 3-D scene in a real duck egg.”
The cost for the one-day workshop and kit is $65 for nonmembers and $50 for members.
